For the finishing touches to your blind you can choose from a number of decorative finishes including eyelets, shapes or bottom bars. These will enhance the look and style of the blind and give something that is a bit different from the normal plain style of a roller blind. Blackout roller blinds Roller blinds are one of the best ways to block out light in a room, especially in bedrooms where outside lights and the sun in the mornings can often wake people up. However please note that only the fabric of the blind will be blackout and some light will still filter around the sides of the blind. This can be reduced by fitting the blind as close to the window frame as possible - but don't forget about any obstacles such as handles protruding from the window. Alternatively another solution would be to fit the roller blind behind blackout curtains, and close them both. This will reduce the light as much as possible and is a great tried and tested solution that especially works well in children's rooms so that they aren't awoken due to light coming through the window. Caring for your roller blind Very little dust is collected on a roller blind making them very practical to clean and maintain. Any wet splashes should be removed immediately to avoid staining - most fabrics are sponge or wipe clean.
